Tim Bennett joined the Temple University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) full-time in June 2005. As the financial manager, Tim’s primary responsibilities include administering the financial aspects of SBDC operations and ensuring that the SBDC is in compliance with all necessary federal, state, and University requirements regarding the grants it receives. Additionally, Tim manages the SBDC Accounting Clinic, which utilizes undergraduate accounting students to assist clients with financial statement construction and review, and the SBDC Telephone Consultants, who provide initial point-of-contact and administrative functions for the center.
Prior to working as the SBDC Financial Manager, Tim worked as a research assistant in the Temple SBDC’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), where he was responsible for conducting research for PTAC clients and tracking the results of the services that the PTAC provides. Tim also worked for GIM Associates, a boutique consulting and training firm in Philadelphia, where he provided business plan review and research for clients. At GIM, Tim also worked extensively on developing marketing and operational strategies for Entrepreneurial Training Academy, a new company under the GIM Associates umbrella.
Tim is currently an evening student at Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management pursuing his Master’s of Business Administration in Strategic Management. He is a 2005 graduate of the Temple University where he completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship, a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications, and a Certification of Specialization in Spanish and Latin American Studies for Business.
