Incubator Program

The Temple Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Incubator Program provides small business owners with a work environment that fosters business growth and success. The purpose of the program is to support start-up and existing ventures in the Philadelphia area through consulting, training, and technical assistance. Our primary goal is to successfully integrate these businesses into our community to promote the economic development and prosperity of our region.

 


The "recovery fee" for materials and equipment usage is $100.00 per month on an affiliate basis (10 hrs/wk), $150.00 per month on a part-time basis (20hrs/wk) and $200 per month on a full-time basis. Upon acceptance into the program, participants are required to establish reasonable short and long-term goals for their company. Progress toward these goals will be evaluated each quarter. Clients are also required to attend monthly meetings with their business consultant, quarter group meetings, and any professional development opportunities as specified by the consultant.

  • Networked computers equipped with cutting edge technology for internet access, word-processing, and financial record keeping purposes
  • Opportunities for professional development through Temple SBDC’s frequent training seminars and workshops
  • Individual desks and file cabinets
  • Conference and training rooms for meetings
  • Access to specialized services such as Government Procurement, International Trade, Product Development, legal and technology services, and much more!
  • Building security and janitorial services
  • Laser printers and color inkjet printer/scanner
  • Tenant electronic bulletin board and list serv
  • A business street address
  • Fax machine

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must submit a completed business plan and an application for service to be considered for tenancy. A selection committee consisting of experienced business consultants will review each plan and make a decision within two weeks of receiving the application. Those individuals who demonstrate commitment and motivation, possess basic business skills and knowledge, and submit a feasible business plan will be given high consideration. All candidates must be willing to adhere to Temple SBDC policies and procedures and computer usage policies. Please fax the application and a copy of your business plan to 215-204- 3821.   • Johnson’s Security Bureau - Family owned and operated since 1962, Johnson Security Bureau, Inc. employs individuals who provide professional transport, guard, patrol and protective services.
  • Lisa Harding, Esq. – is a private law firm that provides premiere legal consultation and representation in the areas of family law, criminal law, and workers compensation law.
  • Montage Diversity Consultants (MDC) – MDS is a full service business providing diverse faculty recruiting, diversity consulting and training, and HR/Payroll outsourcing to educational and business clients.
  • The Montage Companies (MDC) – MDS is an international group of education, technology and diversity consulting entities serving education, corporate and government organizations.
  • Mitchell’s Business Solutions - MBS provides business management and accounting solutions to individuals and small business clients. Their services include tax preparation, consulting, and training.
  • Philadelphia Sports Training Center – PSTC is a sports performance center that works in developing athletes from ages 8-99. The incubator houses the administrative office of the business.
  • Sand Shack, LLC - Sand Shack is a resort and beach apparel and accessories company.
  • StrongCity Technology Solutions - Led by Claude Vilfort, Strong City Tech Solutions is a full service IT consulting firm that specializes in providing System Integration Services along with Hardware & Software Support to small and midsized businesses in the service & manufacturing industries.
  • Your Ticket to Work - is a staffing agency specializing in direct hire and temporary placements.
