2009-2010 Entrepreneur in Residence Stan Angelo

Stanley Angelo, Chairman of Westinghouse Lighting Corporation, is a well-respected, dedicated leader in the lighting industry who has successfully and energetically served his customers, employees and partners for over 45 years.

At the age of 29, Mr. Angelo assumed the presidency of Angelo Brothers Company, the Philadelphia-based family business formed by his father and uncle in the mid-1940s. During his tenure, the company has grown dramatically from a small lighting parts replacement operation to a major supplier of light bulbs, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, fan accessories and decorative electrical products for both the commercial and consumer markets.

Mr. Angelo graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Early in his professional career, he introduced packaged lamp parts, a first for the lighting industry. Under his leadership, the company’s product offering grew with the addition of: packaged replacement lighting hardware, lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. The customer base also broadened to include major home centers, hardware stores, lighting showrooms and electrical wholesalers.

Mr. Angelo assumed the Chairmanship in 1990. Under his direction, company sales have increased significantly throughout the world. Today, Angelo leads the burgeoning company in pursuit of new opportunities in LED technology and innovation.

Mr. Angelo served as a member of the American Lighting Association (ALA) Board of Governors and treasurer of the organization. He was awarded the prestigious ALA Pillar of the Industry Award in 2000 and in 2002, he was awarded the highly regarded Residential Lighting Leadership Award.

Leading the company through its transition to Westinghouse Lighting Corporation, Mr. Angelo will continue to foster solid working relationships both domestically and internationally assuring the continuity of loyalty, quality and dependable partnerships.

Mr. Angelo’s extensive volunteer commitment has benefited the American Diabetes Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Sunshine Foundation. The City of Hope has recognized him and the company for their generous contributions to their research hospital. He also serves on the Board Of Trustees of the Meadowbrook School.

Currently residing in Rydal, PA with his wife Janet, Mr. Angelo and his wife served on the board of the Abington Art Center. Mrs. Angelo was Chairman Of The Board at the Abington Art Center as well as being a guide at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for over 14 years. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Jennifer, and they are the proud grandparents of twin boys, Jacob and Matthew.
