  • 10th Annual Idea Competition Awards Dinner
    October 11, 2007: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
    Speakman Hall Student Lounge, Main Campus, Temple University

    Temple students, faculty, staff and alumni generated two-page ideas for launching exciting and sustainable new businesses, and submitted these entries for judging in this competition. Winners were announced at the Awards Dinner.  The grand prize was awarded to Michael Stosich, School of Dentistry, for Stem Cell Tissue Grafting.  The evening also featured successful entrepreneur and Temple alum, John Ellingson, who is CEO of VisionFactory.

    Fox School of Business entrepreneurship majors and minors were invited to the first ever Entrepreneurship Job Fair. Twenty-six entrepreneurial companies were present and offered both internships, part-time, and full-time positions. A great opportunity for students to make connections and check out the myriad of opportunities available with entrepreneurial and high-growth companies.
  • Enthusiasm Sports Idea Competition
    February 27, 2008: 5:30pm - 7:00pm
    Liacouras Center, Main Campus, Temple University

    Temple students, faculty, staff and alumni generated one-paged ideas for increasing attendance at Temple University athletic events. Finalists presented their ideas via PowerPoint at the event and winners were announced at the half-time of the Men's Basketball Game. The Grand Prize was awarded to Rachel Eschenbach, Tyler School of Art. The evening featured Hooter, the Owl, Temple Cheerleaders, and the Pep Band.

    The Expo showcases 20 new venture opportunities supported by Fox MBAs through the Enterprise Management Consulting Practice or developed by Temple students or faculty through the annual Business Plan Competition.  The 2007 opportunities hail from Greater Philadelphia, India, Ireland, Israel and England and include innovations in laboratory sciences, alternative energy, internet security, regulatory affairs, industrial machinery, sustainable land use, cardiac rehabilitation, arts marketing and urban development.

    Announcing the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute and The Turnaround Management Association's Second Annual Corporate Renewal Case Competition

    The Philadelphia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute of the Fox School of Business are sponsoring the Second Annual Corporate Renewal Case Competition in Spring 2007.  A $1,500 cash prize will be awarded to the winning student at the Corporate Renewal Case Competition Awards Luncheon on April 26, 2007. 2nd place winner will receive a $500 cash prize. Undergraduate and MBA or MS students currently enrolled at the Fox School of Business are eligible to compete.

As markets shift and community developers try to "go to scale" to affect more of the urban core, the tension between investors and community members, markets and neighborhoods, often increase. How can the various interests be balanced? Our panelists will focus on ownership and participation structures that might (or might not) mediate these tensions and might (or might not) enhance the flows of financial and social capital for all stakeholders involved in urban development.
