Green By Design Week at Alter Hall

Come visit the Students for Responsible Business (SRB) Green By Design Week in Alter Hall, March 23-27, 2009, and learn about incorporating sustainability into the business world during a weeklong professional speaker series. Other Green By Design Week highlights include a student design competition for an efficient laundry detergent distribution system in conjunction with the Big Green Store, a Going Green, Growing Strong networking social on Friday, March 27, and on Monday and Thursday, check out the student organizations and co-sponsors expo tables throughout Alter Hall’s atrium.

SRB’s Green Food Initiative is also launching on Monday, March 23 and is encouraging local trucks on Temple’s campus to make a difference in the environment by making eco-friendly choices. Currently, nine trucks are taking part in the initiative and SRB has created a ranking system with points to demonstrate how many environmental-steps each vendor has taken. All of the vendors taking part in the initiative will display posters with a frequently updated score.

Monday, March 23

Expo: Student organizations including SRB, Students for Environmental Action and Rho Epsilon, as well as co-sponsors will have tables set up.
10:00 a.m.-2:00 pm. Alter Hall atrium

Big Green Earth Store Design Competition: Students are challenged to design a low energy laundry detergent dispenser. The winning designer will receive a cash prize and have their concept manufactured. There is currently an open deadline.
