OBJECTIVES
This full day professional development program is designed for community college faculty and administrators interested in developing or improving international programs on their campuses. The program will discuss challenges and successes in curriculum development and institutional leadership by showcasing best practices and encouraging dialogue among participants. Faculty development sessions will focus on current issues in language instruction, study abroad, doing business with Asia, perspectives on globalization, and international negotiations strategies.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO
  • Be responsive to the needs of a culturally diverse student population
  • Internationalize general course syllabi
  • Develop instructional materials and activities for classes in foreign languages, area studies, and business
  • Identify potential improvements in their international programs
  • Discuss key international business concepts
  • Evaluate significant economic regions of the world

Dr. James Chan, Entrepreneur, author, founder and principal of Asia Marketing Management, a Philadelphia-based consultancy specializing in advising U.S. companies on entrepreneurship and doing business in China.
