Dr. James Delaney has been appointed as an Assistant Professor of Statistics with a secondary appointment in Finance. Dr. Delaney received his PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to getting his doctorate, Dr. Delaney worked for a major proprietary derivatives trading firm that is headquartered in the Philadelphia region, Susquehanna Investment Group. Since 2006, he has been a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University and a National Science Foundation VIGRE Fellow. At Carnegie Mellon, he mentored undergraduate research scholars. His research interests are in the areas of statistical computing, Bayesian methods, and risk modeling. He has published in the Journal of Quality Technology and Technometrics. He has also presented at many conferences.
