Burt Holland is a Professor of Statistics in the Fox School. He has made significant research contributions to statistical modeling and design, especially the development and application of new techniques for simultaneous inference, statistical computation and graphics. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in statistical methodology, and supervises doctoral dissertations in Statistics. He was chairperson of the Department of Statistics from 1991 to 1996, and chair of the CAFSBM Collegial Assembly in 1990-1991. Professor Holland has co-authored the graduate-level textbook Statistical Analysis and Data Display - An Intermediate Course with Examples in S-Plus, R and SAS, to be published by Springer-Verlag in summer, 2004. Professor Holland frequently serves as a statistics consultant to principal investigators in the health sciences and biology, and to the legal community. He is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association.
