Dr. Dasari took the B.A. (Economics, Mathematics and Statistics) and M.A. (Economics) at the Nagarjuna University, India from 1991-96 and obtained his M.Phil. in applied economics at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India in 1998. Between 1999 and 2001, he was associated with the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), Chennai, India and conducted research in corporate finance, financial management and strategic management. Dr. Dasari earned his Ph.D. in economics from the Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS) affiliated to the University of Madras, India in 2005.
Dr. Dasari has been working as a consultant at the World Bank, Washington D.C. since 2005. At the World Bank, he is involved in two projects: 1) Tracking land - caste nexus in a South Indian village for a period of 140 years and 2)Analyzing transcripts of 'gramasabha' meetings of 450 South Indian villages to evaluate the overall and specific performances and effectiveness of Decentralization and Planning.
His research interests are in Development Economics, Agricultural and Rural Development, Economic History, Female Property Rights, Entrepreneurship and Research Methodology.
