Prior to joining The Fox School, J. David Cummins was the Harry J. Loman Professor of Insurance and Risk Management and the Executive Director of the S.S. Huebner Foundation at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on insurance economics; financial risk management; productivity and efficiency; and securitization of financial institutions. Dr. Cummins has been recognized as the premier researcher in his discipline in the world by the Journal of Risk and Insurance. He has served as the president of American Risk and Insurance Association, and has been a visiting scholar at various universities and Federal Reserve Banks. He has authored, co-authored, edited and co-edited many books, chapters in books, monographs, and numerous articles in prestigious academic journals, and is currently the co-editor of the Journal of Banking and Finance.
