Excellence in Administrative Service
Eustace Kangaju
Director, Temple University's Small Business Development Center
In his role as director of Temple University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Mr. Kangaju has both fostered in others and shown through his own contributions the spark of innovation. He has demonstrated the same high level of professionalism in his role as an adjunct instructor of General and Strategic Management at The Fox School of Business and at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
Mr. Kangaju planned and implemented a growth strategy for the Small Business Development Center, which resulted in a 100-percent increase in the number of entrepreneurs assisted, to more than 1,000 annually. The center also now trains more than 1,200 entrepreneurs each year and has been recognized as one of the best SBDC's in the state. Many of the entrepreneurs the SBDC helps are from the North Philadelphia community where Temple resides.
Eustace Kangaju also works with International MBA students on consulting projects from Europe and Asia as part of students' capstone course Global Entrepreneurship in Technology Program.
Through Temple, Mr. Kangaju forged strategic alliances with the largest providers and support organizations of economic development in the region, such as the small business committee of the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC) and the Minority Business Development Initiative of the Franklin Caucus.
Prior to joining the Temple SBDC, Mr. Kangaju served as a management consultant at La Salle University's Business Development Center. He also worked for Meridian Bank after serving as valuations officer for more than five years in the Sierra Leone Customs and Excise Department in West Africa.
Mr. Kangaju received an MBA in finance from La Salle University, and his BA in economics and business from Albright College.
Eustace Kangaju is a continuous model for excellence in administrative service through his contributions to education and The Fox School.
