Lewis
Loeven currently serves as CIO and Executive Director of the City and
County of San Francisco's Department of Telecommunications and Information
Services. In this position, he is responsible for providing telecommunications
and information technology services to city departments as well as guiding
technology and cable television franchise policies for the City and County
of San Francisco.
Mr. Loeven began his career in telecommunications in 1985, working at the law firm of Lukas, McGowan, Nace and Gutierrez. There he was involved with FCC and other regulatory matters, including the licensing of cellular telephone systems throughout the country. While still in Washington, D.C., he also worked at the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association, concentrating on regulatory and legislative activities.
From 1989 to 2002, he worked at Cellular One (later AT&T Wireless Services) as Director of Systems Development. There he oversaw the Northern California deployment of Cellular One's wireless telecommunications infrastructure. In addition, he also managed political and external affairs activities for Cellular One.
Following the sale of Cellular One to AT&T Wireless Services, Mr. Loeven took on the role of National Director for Implementation Strategies and also as AT&T Wireless's National External Affairs Director for Wireless Network Services.
