Tuesday, June 19th, 2007QUESTION ANSWERED CORRECTLY … SEE “COMMENTS” BELOW.
Okay then … let’s try a clue. Those black boxes have something to do with the picture below. Check the previous day’s question and thumbnail of the mystery objects for Monday, June 18.
Question of the Week
Monday, June 18th, 2007OK … it’s been a while since we had one of our little contests. If you look at the AlterCam you can see a group of black boxes to the far right, or if you are on campus, you pass a similar grouping along Liacouras Walk. What are these crates and how will they be used? A Fox School electronics/cosmetics bag for the best answer.

Question Answered
Thursday, May 24th, 2007Congratulations to Mariana Pirri who correctly identified the “the base for a bank of elevators” for the Question of the Week. Today’s photo shows the elevator “basement” partially poured. In the image above you can see clearly the outline of the two banks of elevator s (four cars total) that will connect all eight Alter floors.
End of Week Quiz
Friday, April 13th, 2007Well, with yesterday’s rainout I need to resort to some non-action shot for interest. Here is something new on-site.Â
What are those yellow things on the flat bed, and how will they be used?
A crystal candy dish with Fox logo for the best answer.
Congratulations to Mark Kostic a Fox student who correctly answered last week’s question. Those  yellow things are pre-fabricated forms that will be used to build foundation walls for Alter Hall.
Question of the Day
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007What are those colored thingies to the right?
A Fox School sweat shirt or “T” to the person with the best explanation of what and why.
Answer:Â They are rebar safety caps used to prevent workers from injuring or impaling themselves. The prize goes to Jason Williams in The Fox School of Business.
The Answer
Thursday, March 29th, 2007I was just messin’ with ya! The ramp is back. It was removed to get at the lagging below.
Now How Do I Get Out of Here?
Wednesday, March 28th, 2007All lagging is exposed, the ramp connecting the excavation to 13th Street is down, and the Caterpillar appears to be trapped. Or is it?Â
Let’s hear some theories on how equipment will get in and out. If it’s good enough, we may award a small prize.
We Have a Winner!
Monday, March 12th, 2007Debbie Campbell correctly defined “walers” as structural cross-members used to reinforce lagging. Congratulations, Debbie. ( See photo at right) Stop by my office in Speakman to claim your prize.
Keep watching for more Alter Hall trivia and prizes for the correctr answers.
Digging Resumes During Temple Spring Break
Monday, March 5th, 2007Focus this week will be on testing the tie-backs for strength and installing “walers” (a Fox crystal candy box to anyone with the best description of a “waler” … write in “comments” area below no later than Monday, March 12 at Noon). After this is done, workers will start digging to a depth of approximately 15 feet. NOTE: Correct answer provided by Debbie Campbel.
