forms1_compressed.JPG

Well, with yesterday’s rainout I need to resort to some non-action shot for interest.  Here is something new on-site.

What are those yellow things on the flat bed, and how will they be used?

A crystal candy dish with Fox logo for the best answer.

Congratulations to Mark Kostic a Fox student who correctly answered last week’s question.  Those  yellow things are pre-fabricated forms that will be used to build foundation walls for Alter Hall.

What are those colored thingies to the right?

A Fox School sweat shirt or “T” to the person with the best explanation of what and why.

Answer:  They are rebar safety caps used to prevent workers from injuring or impaling themselves. The prize goes to Jason Williams in The Fox School of Business.

ramp-back.jpg

I was just messin’ with ya!  The ramp is back. It was removed to get at the lagging below.

Now How Do I Get Out of Here?

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

how-get-out.JPG

All lagging is exposed, the ramp connecting the excavation to 13th Street is down, and the Caterpillar appears to be trapped.  Or is it?

Let’s hear some theories on how equipment will get in and out.  If it’s good enough, we may award a small prize.

Digging Resumes During Temple Spring Break

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Focus this week will be on testing the tie-backs for strength and installing “walers” (a Fox crystal candy box to anyone with the best description of a “waler” … write in “comments” area below no later than Monday, March 12 at Noon).  After this is done, workers will start digging to a depth of approximately 15 feet.  NOTE: Correct answer provided by Debbie Campbel.
