This Time Last Year

Last year at this time we toured the yet to be completed auditorium. A temporary raised floor was still in place, taping had recently been completed on the drywall, and AV and seating hadn’t been installed. Today you can see the auditorium in its finished form. For the past semester the auditoriium has hosted large classes, student professional organizations and special events ranging from a technology summit to presentations to alumni and business partners. We like our auditorium.

Love the auditorium! I used it in SPRING 2009 for a MKTG 2101 course (160 students!) and, although a large space, the layout made it very comfortable. Students have responded in their CATES that the classroom, and my ability to run around (the sides, the center, etc) the room, added to their feeling of engagement. I likened it to being in a taping of a game show - but seriously, I was able to move around the room and to interact directly with students. We were able to use the seating effectively for small group discussions too. Thanks.
