Water Sculpture Installed
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Hanging from a rig and looking like a rotund Liberty Bell, Alter Hall’s atrium water feature was installed today. A gift to Dean Porat from a donor who will be identified later, the 6400 lb black granite globe was installed by George Young Company, the same riggers who moved the Liberty Bell to its new home on Independence Mall in Philadelphia. The orb, representing the importance of globalization, was created by Gary and Esperanza Jackson of Waterfountains.com in Apple Valley, California.
