Crane Moves East
Monday, August 6th, 2007Having placed most the first floor steel on the west (Liacouras Walk) side of Alter Hall, the crane was moved Saturday to the east (13th Street) side to complete base steel installation on the east side of the Alter construction site.

How fitting that today the steel crew positioned a second-story beam right in front of the “Future Home of Alter Hall” sign. This big red and white banner has stood a lonely vigil since Dennis and Gisela Alter dedicated the spot back in October of 2004 … that’s right … nearly three years ago.

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007A little less than a month before school begins. What will students see when they return? The first three floors framed? Maybe four or five? What’s your best guess on how many framed floors will be completed of the 7 storie structure when school officially begins August 27?
So far we have guesses of 3 floors and another for 7! Any others?
Now we have a vote for FOUR completed, working on the 5th. Pressure is on for the contractors. Remember, there are only 3 weeks until the term begins.
