Memorial Day Break
( Permalink )Well here we are approaching the Memorial Day Holiday, May 28, and in a little under a month we have seen this hole in the ground begin to take the shape of a real building. Look to the left and you see an outline for the elevator shaft, look straight ahead and you see the east-west definition of the MBA Commons (the area that shows up red), and in between their is evidence of concrete footings that will support structural steel.
The plan is to complete the Speakman-side and 13th Street foundation walls in the next few weeks then begin planting the steel sometime in early to mid June.  In the meantime, have a great and safe Memorial Day Holiday. AlterBlog will resume on Tuesday.
P.S. The AlterCam-gone-dark has returned http://sbm.temple.edu/alter/live-webcam.html.

I visited campus a few weeks ago to give a tour to my brother. I must say, the progress made since my last visit is stunning! It was always a joke in my old department that Fox gets things done, but you guys are serious. And thanks for getting rid of awful Curtis Hall. Temple needed that.

Ahhh … the late and little lamented Curtis Hall. That was horrible buiding, wasn’t it? Did you know our favorite Alter location was actually on the north side of Speakman Hall but there were just too many problems taking the little park where Russell Conwell’s bones reside (he was actually moved once before). Stay in touch!
