Welcome to a New Era of Learning!

Dean Moshe PoratFrom the 7th floor of Alter Hall you get a stunning view of the world around you. The glittering
skyscrapers of Center City. The majestic bridges that span the Delaware River. The vibrant, culturally
rich neighborhoods that make up our city.

From this vantage point, you can see how each connects seamlessly to the other. It’s this same seamless connectivity that is found throughout Alter Hall.

When plans were first drafted for this $80 million, state-of-the-art facility, the consensus was that it should be more than simply a space for classrooms and offices. It should be a place where students, faculty and alumni could connect and collaborate. Every design element, every piece of technology, every decision regarding this building — all were made with these two themes in mind.

Through the generosity of many, many people, this building is now a reality. I would like to thank Dennis and Gisela Alter for their $15 million naming gift, as well as the numerous other donors who chose to support this endeavor. You have given the Fox School a new home and, in the process, have helped to expand the educational opportunities available to our current and future students.

On the following pages, you will read about many different aspects of Alter Hall, all of which are designed to foster connection and collaboration among our school’s many constituents. I think you'll agree that we have built one of the finest business school buildings in the United States.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and commitment to furthering the Fox School’s mission.
